Quesnel high school teacher faces charges of Sexual Interference

A teacher at Correlieu Secondary School in Quesnel has been suspended and is currently facing criminal charges of Sexual Interference, Sexual Assault and Sexual Exploitation after an incident involving a student which occurred in his classroom in March of this year.
On June 11, 2010 Quesnel RCMP arrested Ronald Norman Ball after receiving information from Correlieu Secondary School that a student had been touched for a sexual purpose while in attendance at the school. The charges stem from a single March 2010 incident in which it is alleged that Ronald Ball touched a student under the age of 16 years for a sexual purpose.
Mr. Ball was released on a Recognizance of Bail and is scheduled to appear in Quesnel Provincial Court on June 22 at 9:30am. Mr. Ball is presently bound by court ordered conditions including not to teach anyone under the age of 18 years pending disposition of the charges in court.
A publication ban has been issued prohibiting the disclosure of names of witnesses and the victim.
