Skyfest 2010 wrap up

“The City of Quesnel and the Quesnel Flying Club played host to SkyFest 2010 on Saturday June 5 at Quesnel Regional Airport. Thousands of people attended SkyFest 2010, which included a three-and-a-half-hour airshow featuring solo flights, a helicopter fire-fighting demonstration, breath-taking aerobatics (including multiple high-speed flybys), two- and three-plane team flights, dazzling pyrotechnics and even a drag race between a plane and classic hot rod! The night before the event, the Quesnel Downtown Association hosted a paper plane flying contest as well as a meet-and-greet with the performers.
All in all, the event was an unmitigated success with fantastic community buy-in. Many thanks goes to the Quesnel Flying Club members, sponsors and all those who had a hand in making SkyFest 2010 happen.
